| I have a very special friend named Karen who lives on a farm just outside of Memphis Tennessee. Karen has a huge heart filled with love for all animals, especially the less fortunate. Whenever there is an animal in the area that needs to be rescued, Karen is right there waiting to take him or her home. These animals will have all the love and care they need for the rest of their lives. Karen is truly their Guardian Angel. Please join me now to meet some of the animals that have been loved and taken care of by Karen. Even though they were in Karen's life only a short time, they will be forever remembered and safe in her heart for eternity. |

| I Remember I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep. I could see that you were crying. You found it hard to sleep. I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear, "It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here." I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea, You were thinking of the many times your hands reached down to me. I was with you at the shops today. Your arms were getting sore. I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more. I was with you at my grave today. You tend it with such care. I want to re-assure you, that I'm not lying there. I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key. I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said "It's me." You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair. I tried so hard to let you know, that I was standing there. It's possible for me to be so near you everyday. To say to you with certainty, "I never went away." You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew... in the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you. The day is over... I smile and watch you yawning and say "Good-night, God bless, I'll see you in the morning." And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide, I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side. I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see. | MY LOUISE, THE BLONDE ANGEL Louise, my angel, sent from above Sent by God for me to love. Pleasure and happiness into my home, You brought peace and kindness and never left me alone. When I was sad and needed a kiss, There you were with a tongue that wouldn't miss. Your love for me I could see in your eyes. You gave trust and kindness, never any lies. You stood by my side when I needed a friend And in return, I was by yours at the end. To hold and comfort you those remaining seconds, I was blessed by Heaven to be there when the angels beckoned. Our babies were there to greet you with a smile, Saying, "We missed you, you've been with Mom for quite awhile." God needs a favor that only you can fulfill. Then a cool breeze fell over us and gave us a chill. He wants you to greet the ones who are here without any friends. Those that are lonely, sad, and whose lives you can help cleanse. You can show them what love from a human can do. To hold your head high, nose in the air, and never be blue." I loved you, my precious one, because you needed me. There in your blue eyes was one last plea. "Please give me a chance and let me come live with you. I promise to give you all that I have, all that you are due." I knew she was special, kind, gentle and sweet, Such a tiny little body to lie at my feet. I could never say no because we needed each other, I needed a child and she needed a mother. So I paid her fine, picked her up and carried her to my car, And off to my house in the country, the drive was far. You came into our home with a cheery attitude, I could look in those eyes and see the gratitude. I was fortunate enough to have you for 17 years, Even with that wispy, blonde hair falling from lop-sided ears. I loved you each day and gave you lots of hugs, kisses and love From your family here on earth, but also from God above. I will miss you my angel because you were a dear little soul, Who woke up each morning with only one goal. "Kiss my mom everyday and be by her side, Sleep on her pillow next to head, protect her forever until I die. I will protect my mom from Heaven above, So no harm will come to her, only love. | MY SWEET, DEAR KIRBY, KATRINA SURVIVOR ALTHOUGH YOU'RE GONE AND AWAY FROM ME, YOUR LOVE AND MEMORIES WILL FOREVER BE. THE BRIDGE IS HAPPIER BECAUSE YOU ARE THERE, BUT HAVING TO LOSE YOU JUST WASN'T FAIR. YOUR STRUGGLE WAS DIFFICULT WHEN THE HURRICANE STRUCK, HOWEVER, SURVIVING KATRINA WAS PRETTY GOOD LUCK. AN OLD, BLACK DOG WITH HEARTWORMS, CAME TO THE SHELTER, JUST WAITING TO BE RESCUED AND LIVE WITH SOMEONE EVER AFTER. I HAPPENED YOUR WAY, JUST BY LUCK, SOMEONE TOLD ME AN OLD DOG NEEDED A HOME, SO I WAS STUCK. I OPENED THE DOOR AND SPOTTED A BLACK DOG WITH A WHITE FACE, AND I KNEW INTO MY LIFE, I COULD FIND YOU A PLACE. YOU LIVED YOUR LIFE WITHOUT WORRY OR PAIN, SOMETIMES YOU WERE AFRAID TO GO OUTSIDE IN THE RAIN. IF ONLY YOU COULD HAVE TOLD ME THE AGONY YOU MUST HAVE GONE THROUGH, BUT I COULD SEE IN THOSE BEAUTIFUL EYES, AND THAT GAVE ME A CLUE. NO ONE CAME TO CLAIM YOU AS THEIR OWN, SO I PUT YOU IN THE CAR AND TOOK YOU HOME. OH, WHAT A WONDERFUL LIFE YOU HAD, ALWAYS A GOOD DOG, NEVER WERE YOU BAD. YOU STRUGGLED THROUGH THE TREATMENT FOR THE WORMS TO BE GONE, THEN PILLS EVERY MONTH, WHICH YOU TOOK IN BETWEEN YAWNS. YOU SLEPT ON YOUR BED AND PLAYED WITH YOUR TOYS, JUST BEING A PERFECT, GENTLE, SWEET, LITTLE BOY. I WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW WHAT JOY AN OLD DOG CAN BRING, LIKE SITTING QUIETLY BY YOU WHEN OUT ON YOUR SWING. THEY ARE GENTLE AND FRIENDLY AND SWEET AND KIND, THEY GIVE YOU THEIR TRUST EVEN WHEN THEY GO BLIND. ONE OF THE BEST COMPANIONS IN THIS TROUBLED LIFE OF OURS, WITH LOVE AND CARE THEY HELP MEND ALL OUR SCARS. SO SHARE YOUR LIFE WITH AN OLD, BLACK DOG FROM THE POUND. THEIR LOVE LIKE A STAR WILL FOREVER SURROUND. YOU WERE HAPPY FOR HUGS, WALKS IN OUR WOODS, AND ESPECIALLY TREATS AT NIGHT, FOLLOWING ME EVERYWHERE, NEVER LETTING ME OUT OF YOUR SIGHT. | JERRY SPRINGER MY BIG ORANGE KITTY It was Halloween night, almost eight years ago. I heard soft meows, so faint and so low.... There in my barn, underneath some hay, Were five newborn kitties who had lost their way. Where was their mother? She sure wasn't around. I searched and searched, but she was nowhere to be found... I couldn't leave them alone, for how would they survive? Who would take care of them and help them thrive? There was only one answer, I knew in my heart. So I gathered them up and into my life they became a part.... Five little souls, so tiny and frail, with no one at all. My help was needed for they were so small. So that's how JERRY SPRINGER came to live with me, Playing with his siblings, running, so glad to be free... Jerry would chase after his red laser mouse, Just knowing one day he would catch it in the house. What a joy and a pleasure to watch them all grow, It filled my heart with happiness, I was so proud, you know... Jerry loved to sleep in my bathroom sink. He would spend hours a day sitting there just to think. I can still see him lying on his back, pitty-patting the air, I can still feel him nudge me in the morning by pulling my hair... Or gently touching my face with his paw, just to let me know it was time to get up. Breakfast was what he had on his mind, "Put food in my empty cup." The cancer took his body, but Jesus took him home. To live in peace and harmony, never more to roam... I held him in my arms that horrible day, and I thought I saw him smile, He even purred as if to say, "it's OK, Mama, I'll only be gone awhile. JERRY SPRINGER, my big orange cat, is at the Rainbow Bridge, But if I look closely, I might see his big eyes peeking over the ridge... His spirit and memories will leave me never. | SMOKEY, OUR RESCUED ANGEL FROM KATRINA SMOKEY, OUR ANGEL, SENT FROM ABOVE, GIVEN TO US TO TAKE CARE OF AND LOVE. GOD HAD A HAND, THE DAY WE MET YOU, YOU NEEDED US, FOR YOU WERE LOST AND BLUE. YOU HAD BEEN TOSSED FROM PLACE TO PLACE, YOU WONDERED, WOULD THERE EVER BE A FRIENDLY FACE? A SURVIVOR OF A HURRICANE, LIKE NO OTHER, YOU WERE LEFT ALL ALONE, WHAT YOU WENT THROUGH, MAKES ME SHUTTER. AFTER THE STORM, YOUR OWNERS, I’M TOLD, NEVER LOOKED FOR YOU, YOU FELT FORGOTTEN, SO YOUR SADNESS JUST GREW. LOST AND ALONE TO FACE THE WORLD WITHOUT LOVE, BUT WHEN YOU SAW US, YOU KNEW GOD WAS WATCHING FROM ABOVE. WE SAID TO EACH OTHER, WHAT A HANDSOME FELLOW, WE COULD TELL THAT YOUR DISPOSITION WAS MELLOW. “CAN WE ADOPT HIM?” I ASKED THE OFFICER ON DUTY, WE KNEW SOMEONE WOULD WANT HIM, BOY, WHAT A BEAUTY! HE WAS AN OLD, BLACK DOG WITH FEET AND FACE OF GRAY, BY TAKING HIM HOME, IT WOULD MAKE MY DAY. INTO OUR CAR FOR A LONG RIDE TO OUR HOME, LOTS OF FENCED LAND FOR A BIG DOG TO ROAM. YOU CHARMED US ALL WITH YOUR KIND EYES AND SWEET FACE, YOU KNEW IN YOUR HEART, YOU HAD FOUND YOUR FOREVER PLACE. YOU TAUGHT US SOME AMAZING THINGS, TO FORGIVE AND FORGET, AND WHAT A FAMILY BRINGS. SO EVERYDAY YOU AND YOUR DADDY WALKED DOWN THE HILL, EARLY IN THE MORNING WHEN THINGS WERE SO STILL. I SENT YOU TO THE BRIDGE BECAUSE I PROMISED THAT YOU WOULD NEVER SUFFER, I CAN TELL YOU FOR A FACT, FOR ME IT WAS TOUGHER.
